Avnish is the co-founder and Managing Partner of Instiglio, a global and diverse team of 70+ practitioners with the mission of transforming the performance of development programs. Instiglio has pioneered results-based financing innovations and championed and supported the mainstreaming of outcomes-based approaches for the public sector and donor agencies in Latin America and Africa over the last decade. Avnish leads the organization’s global strategy, and through this work has experience as a field-builder working in complex systems change much like LaMP. He also brings significant experience with how to induce private sector unlocks that can drive systems change.​

​Avnish formerly worked for MIT’s Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL), for the World Bank, and as a consultant to a DFID challenge fund. He holds a MPA/ID from the Harvard Kennedy School, a diploma in performance management for non-profits from Harvard Business School, and a BA in economics and math from Dartmouth College. He was awarded the Echoing Green Fellowship and was elected by Forbes Magazine as one of the world’s “30 under 30” social entrepreneurs for his work with Instiglio. He currently lives in Colombia, and is originally from Mauritius. As a migrant himself and having devoted his career to effectively working on global poverty, he is passionate about LaMP’s mission.
